Newcastle United plotting move for Man Utd transfer target

Newcastle United are set to start a new era this week. Eddie Howe has left and will hopefully finally get the flowers that he deserves. He was the one to end the club’s 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy. On top of that, the Englishman also guided them into the Champions League on more than one occasion.

Matthias Jaissle will be the one replacing him, even though it has not been made official yet. The German manager has enjoyed a ton of success with RB Salzburg and Al-Ahli, where he has won back-to-back AFC Champions League Elite titles.

It is going to be a whole different ball game in the Premier League though. So, the Magpies need to back him by making quality additions to the squad.

Newcastle United’s midfield need reinforcements

The midfield is one area which is in particular need of reinforcements, having seen Sandro Tonali leave. Bruno Guimaraes looks to be on his way to Arsenal as well. There is also speculation around the futures of Joe Willock and Joelinton. So, the Magpies’ midfield department could look completely different this season.

They have signed two new midfielders so far. Sean Steur has been brought in from Ajax. Aladji Bamba has arrived from AS Monaco. But the club could do with some proven quality and experience.

They need players who can start from day one. Could a Bournemouth midfielder, also wanted by Manchester United, be the solution?

According to a recent report from talkSPORT, Manchester United are considering a bid for Bournemouth’s midfielder Tyler Adams.

But it has now been suggested that Newcastle United could prove to be a more realistic destination for Adams if he leaves Bournemouth.

Newcastle United tipped to sign Tyler Adams

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are plotting a move to sign Adams. And former Man Utd chief scout, Mick Brown, said:

“They want a top-class replacement for Casemiro, and despite being an aggressive midfielder, I don’t think Adams ticks many of their boxes.

“However, if there is a possibility that he could leave Bournemouth this summer, one clubs who I do believe are watching him is Newcastle.

“They want to sign a new midfielder because they’re losing key players in that position, and Adams is somebody whose performances will have put him on their radar.

“He’s done well in the Premier League for Bournemouth, and at the World Cup as well with the USA, so I’m sure they will have been keeping an eye on him.

“A lot might depend on whether or not he is willing to leave Bournemouth, because they had a very good season and now they’re in Europe, but Newcastle will feel they can convince him.”

Tyler Adams has been playing Premier League football for the past four years now. He has been linked with big moves in the past. Manchester United seem to be in the mix this summer. Chelsea came close to signing him in the past before signing Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.

Yet, so far, a big move has not materialised for the American international. Could that change with Newcastle United, with the Magpies in need of midfield reinforcements?

Would he even want to leave Bournemouth and the chance to play in Europe in order to join Newcastle United right now? That is also a point of discussion.
