PSG are set to reject Liverpool's first offer for Bradley Barcola as they line up a bid for his services, sources have told Football Insider.
Liverpool have registered their interest in Barcola this summer following Mo Salah's departure.
Andoni Iraola is keen to add versatile attackers who can feature on either flank to his squad during his first transfer window at the helm.
Barcola has expressed a desire to explore a move away from PSG after struggling for starts in key games last season.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Liverpool are set to submit a first bid for his services soon, which will be duly rejected by the Parisians.
They are holding out for around £120million for the 23-year-old, while the Reds are keen to agree a deal for closer to £100m.
Liverpool to have first bid rejected for Bradley Barcola
Talks have been held between Liverpool and Barcola's representatives, and they look set to come to an agreement before a deal progresses.
PSG are expecting to turn down the Reds' first offer for his signature, as they aim to meet in the middle to agree a fee.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Talks will be ongoing between Liverpool and PSG, and they're preparing a first bid. More than likely, that will get turned down, but I'm sure there'll be ongoing discussions between the two clubs to see if they can thrash out a deal.
"And obviously if PSG bring in Magnes Akliouche from Monaco, then maybe that could free up space to allow them to let Barcola to move on."
Liverpool keen on Gilberto Mora but must wait to agree deal
Iraola's search for new attacking signings has also seen the Reds register their interest in Mexican starlet Mora this summer.
The 17-year-old shone at his home World Cup and has emerged as a key man for Liga MX side Tijuana in the last few seasons.
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Liverpool are keen on signing Mora, but will not be able to do so until he turns 18 in October.
