Manchester United player to travel for medical within hours–Rapid transfer deal

SportwitnessSport Witness

Manchester United have agreed a rapid transfer exit for Altay Bayindir, although the terms don’t appear great. After the story broke on Saturday, sources close to Celta Vigo have added some details.

Sunday’s edition of Faro de Vigo reports the Spanish club hope to finalise the arrival in the coming hours. Celta Vigo go on a pre-season trip to Italy next week, and the plan is to have the goalkeeper available for that.

Celta Vigo will face Sassuolo next Wednesday and Napoli on Saturday. The United player has a chance to appear in these matches.

Manager Claudio Giráldez has been asking for a new stopper, and Bayindir will compete with Andrei Radu.

Not the best financial deal for Manchester United

Altay Bayindir will sign for Celta Vigo on loan for the 2026/27 season.

The 28-year-old’s Manchester United contract expires in June 2027. Therefore, the assumption in Vigo is that the Red Devils will use their option to extend for a further year. That would mean there’s a chance of getting a fee next summer.

However, there’s little chance of Manchester United ever getting a fee from Celta Vigo. The local newspaper states that even if Bayindir is a free agent next summer, he’d still have to vastly reduce his wages.

AS report the goalkeeper will fly out for his medical either today or tomorrow.

Short Red Devils career

Altay Bayindir joined Manchester United in 2023 and never really showed signs he could be a long term No.1.

Even when Andre Onana was going through his period of throwing balls into the net, Bayindir wasn’t immediately brought in. There was a lack of real trust shown under Ruben Amorim, and since the arrival of Senne Lemmens the exit door has been open.

The arrival of Karl Darlow as a free agent this summer has only underlined that.
