JJ Gabriel became the youngest ever player to represent Manchester United when he came on to face Atletico Madrid in pre-season.
At the age of 15 years and 299 days, JJ Gabriel became Manchester United’s youngest-ever debutant during the 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.
Gabriel was included in the matchday squad against Rosenborg last time out, but he was made to wait before being given a 10-minute cameo in Stockholm.
Last summer, Gabriel was promised a first-team pathway as part of United’s persuasion for him to stay. That promise was kept, and fans were excited to see the teenage talent on the pitch.

There is already huge excitement around Gabriel’s potential, and his first-team debut is a signal to fans that he is almost ready for the senior stage.

JJ Gabriel reacts to his Manchester United debut
Last week, Gabriel posted a message of “patience” on his social media after he was left on the bench against Rosenborg.
This week, the 15-year-old’s patience paid off, and he could celebrate his first-team debut online.

On Instagram, Gabriel wrote: “First team debut. Thank you to everyone for the support.”
United teammate Tom Heaton replied: “First of many – congratulations pal”, while several of Gabriel’s academy teammates, including Godwill Kukonki and Jaydan Kamason showed support in the comments section.
