Aston Villa and Manchester United could be set for a transfer battle after both clubs were linked with Juventus’ Netherlands midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

Koopmeiners joined Juventus in August 2024 from fellow Serie A side Atalanta for more than €50m, signing a five-year contract.

He is widely considered a pivotal figure in the heart of their midfield having racked up 33 appearances as they missed out on Champions League football.

That failure has left Juve facing speculation over some of their players with Koopmeiners the subject of speculation.

He was heavily linked with Chelsea and United two years ago, but talk of a move to the Premier League has been revived.

Calciomercato.it have claimed that Villa and United are keen on the Dutchman who was part of the Netherlands' squad that travelled to the World Cup this summer.

And it is claimed that a move could happen if an offer of €30m was tabled while a loan with an obligation to buy would also be an option.

Villa and United can both offer Champions League football and interestingly, Douglas Luiz looks to have been given another chance to save his career at Juventus which could spark a departure.
