An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to be afforded a chance to impress at senior level this coming season.
The Blancos starlet in question? Alexis Ciria.
The name of youngster Ciria may well be a familiar one to those who have been keeping a close eye on Real Madrid’s pre-season efforts. The 18-year-old was afforded a starting berth in the club’s friendly clash with Serie A outfit Fiorentina on Saturday.
And Ciria went on to take full advantage of the opportunity afforded to him, notching Los Merengues’ 2nd goal en route to a 2-2 draw.
Just six months on from his arrival in Spain’s capital from Sevilla, the teen is already turning heads, hailed for his technical quality and exceptional attitude.
So much so that new Real Madrid headmaster José Mourinho now considers Ciria an option for senior minutes when the season proper is kicked into gear later this month.
As per a report from Diario AS:
‘Mourinho is open to letting him stay (with the first-team). “He’ll get some minutes, this is a long season…,” say sources close to the coaching staff.’
