Manchester United are preparing to sanction the formal exit of goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
Altay Bayindir was notably absent from Manchester United’s pre-season squad list to face Atletico Madrid over the weekend.
Bayindir was eligible to play after Turkey’s early World Cup elimination – but his presence was not required.
Now, Bayindir is close to leaving the club to sign La Liga side Celta Vigo on loan.
Spanish outlets La Voz de Galicia and Faro de Vigo both report that talks are ongoing to finalise the terms of a loan exit.
United will be seeking a buy option at the end of the deal, and also getting as high a percentage of Bayindir’s wages covered as possible.

Altay Bayindir sealed his fate before Michael Carrick arrived
Altay Bayindir will leave Manchester United without playing a single game under current manager Michael Carrick.
United have acted ruthlessly, not even giving Bayindir a go in pre-season under Carrick.
Honestly, it was the right move. Altay Bayindir had already sealed his fate before Carrick’s arrival.
Last season Bayindir actually began the campaign as first choice, ahead of Andre Onana.
But after Onana’s nightmare against Grimsby Town, United pulled the trigger to sign Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
United continued to give Bayindir a chance after Lammens signed, but he only lasted three more matches – arguably three too many,
The last straw was a disastrous performance in a 3-1 defeat away at Brentford, where Igor Thiago scored twice with shots that appeared to go through Bayindir.
Bayindir was dropped for Lammens for the next game, and United never looked back.
The Belgian goalkeeper instantly showed himself to be the club’s true number one, even if Bayindir had the squad number.
United’s failed cup runs last season meant there was little chance to rotate, but there was never any desire to.
Bayindir had proven to be an unreliable goalkeeper who was simply not at Manchester United’s level. He was not on Senne Lammens’ level.

Altay Bayindir’s replacement is already here
Altay Bayindir’s exit won’t create any problems for Manchester United’s squad depth.
United have already signed his replacement, striking a deal for free agent goalkeeper Karl Darlow to provide cover.
Darlow has the Premier League experience that United need from a back-up goalkeeper, and United should have no qualms turning to him if needed.
