Man Utd have been “offered” the chance to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, according to talkSPORT reporter Ben Jacobs.
Speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel, Jacobs said that the Portuguese international is keen on making the switch to the Premier League, but the Red Devils are not going to sign him unless they can offload Marcus Rashford first:
“With Rafa Leao, it wasn’t Man United going to Rafa Leao. It was Rafa Leao going to Man United. That’s the way round it was. So the agency of Rafa Leao have offered Rafa Leao to Man United and also to several other clubs as well, and they’re waiting to see who bites.”

“There’s Turkish interest. There’s Saudi interest. But Leao quite fancies a move to the Premier League. At the moment, everyone’s offering him. But due to the package and the wage and the commissions, [he’s] viewed as a player that maybe is a bit too expensive and, again, Man United are not going to move for Rafa Leao, as long as they feel that Marcus Rashford is still at the club. So nothing to get excited about there.”
Where will Leao go?
At the moment, it looks like Turkey is the 26-year-old’s most likely destination, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce currently fighting it out over his signature.
Both teams have the financial resources to match his wage demands, but neither side have agreed a transfer fee with Milan, who want a permanent sale and not a loan deal.
What’s the latest on Rashford’s Man Utd future?
There is NO movement in terms of a potential departure. Nobody was tempted to pay the £40m release clause before it expired a couple of weeks ago, and the player is adamant that he won’t join another Premier League club.
For that reason, a sale or loan abroad are the most likely scenarios, unless manager Michael Carrick decides that he wants to make Rashford a key part of his first-team plans.
