Following life at Manchester United, Casemiro has began a new era at Inter Miami as the midfielder enters Major Soccer League football for the first time.
Signing for Miami, who are owned by Manchester United legend Sir David Beckham, the Brazilian international is playing alongside several recognisable names including Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul.
His move to the club continues to face scrutiny, however, with the league conducting their own investigation into the actions that happened in the build-up to the transfer.
Even with this, Casemiro has been cleared to play with him making his debut last weekend for Inter Miami against Montreal away from home.
He returned to Miami for his first MLS home game on Saturday against Columbus as he looked to build on the three points that had been earned last weekend.
Instead of a comprehensive win, however, Casemiro’s debut did not go to plan with him scoring an own goal in the 34th minute as Columbus drew against Inter Miami.
Casemiro also picked up a yellow card in the match and created just one chance throughout the 90 minutes.
The draw means that Inter Miami sit second in Major League Soccer with Nashville SC above them. For Columbus, the point moves them to 20 for the season with them sitting tenth and just three points outside the Championship play-off places.
As Casemiro reflects on his home debut for Inter Miami, focus will switch towards the side’s next game against San Luis next week in the Leagues Cup.
The fixture is the first of three consecutive Cup matches with Inter Miami facing Monterrey and Leon following San Luis.
For Casemiro, it offers a chance for him to build back up from the disappointment of his home debut against Columbus.
