Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Trendon Watford is nearing a move to Europe, sources tell BasketNews.
According to sources, the 25-year-old combo forward is in advanced negotiations with Valencia Basket.
Watford became a free agent earlier this offseason after the 76ers declined the team option on the second year of his contract.
The 2.03-meter forward has appeared in 270 NBA games for the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 7.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 17 minutes per game.
Trendon Watford's triple-double game
During the 2025-26 season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Watford averaged 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 16 minutes per game.
He enjoyed several standout performances during the 2025-26 campaign in Philadelphia, highlighted by a 20-point, 17-rebound, and 10-assist triple-double in a victory over the Toronto Raptors in November.
Watford opened last season averaging 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists through November while playing 21 minutes per game.
He remained a productive contributor later in the season, posting 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists during March.

After going undrafted in 2021, Watford earned a standard NBA contract with Portland after beginning his career on a two-way deal.
He established himself with a career-high 27-point performance against the Washington Wizards during his rookie season.
Watford also owns a 2022 NBA Summer League championship with Portland, earning Summer League Championship Game MVP honors after recording 19 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block in the title-game victory over the New York Knicks.
