Arsenal vs Manchester United Confirmed Lineups for August 17
Manchester United are in the market for a left back and if they can’t get their hands on Lewis Hall of Newcastle, a move for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly could be worked on. Miguel Delaney of the Independent stated that United are investigating whether a move for the England international is possible as they look to bolster their left back options.

Myles Lewis-Skelly to Old Trafford?
Why Would it Work?
Lewis-Skelly to Manchester United would certainly grab headlines. The 19-year-old was part of Arsenal’s Premier League winning side last season and featured regularly under Mikel Arteta. With that being said, he spent long periods of time outside of the starting XI, with Italian Riccardo Calafiori and Ecuador’s Piero Hincapie often preferred at left back.

He started in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, albeit in a losing effort but did offer plenty in that game. Manchester United have been admirers of Lewis-Skelly for a while and the Independent stated that The Red Devils considered a move for the left-back last season.
With Hincapie signing on a permanent deal at the Emirates, game time could be hard to come by for the midfielder-turned-full-back, and a move to Manchester could become more attractive for him. He’ll want to break back into the England fold having made his debut last year.
Where would he fit in at Old Trafford?
There’s little denying that Manchester United are in the market for a left back. Luke Shaw performed well last season, starting every game of the season and breaking a personal record for appearances in a single season. He is injury-prone, however, and at 31 years old, is not one for the future.

Hall has been identified as the clear number one for Michael Carrick, although nothing concrete has been put in place for the acquisition of the Newcastle star. With Eddie Howe having left the Toon Army, Hall could follow him out of the door.
