‘Break the bank’ – Fenerbahce make Marcus Rashford move

Fenerbahce have contacted Marcus Rashford’s representatives as they consider a major move for the Manchester United forward.

The latest interest in Rashford arrives after Barcelona decided against making his successful loan spell permanent this summer.

Rashford has returned to United after scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists during his season with Barcelona. Hansi Flick admitted he would miss working with the England international, but the Spanish champions have moved in a different direction.

The 28-year-old could now be offered another route away from Old Trafford.

Fenerbahce ready to ‘break the bank’ for Marcus Rashford transfer

The Sun reports that Fenerbahce are prepared to “break the bank” to sign Rashford, with the Turkish club already making contact with his representatives.

Rashford is one of three attacking players on their shortlist alongside Rafael Leao and Ismaila Sarr. Fenerbahce have already held talks over Leao and contacted Sarr’s camp as they look to strengthen under Ismail Kartal.

The development comes after Rashford’s Manchester United future appeared to take another turn. ReadManUtd recently reported Andy Mitten’s claim that there was now an “80% chance” of Rashford playing for United again.

Michael Carrick has offered a potential route back into the squad after Rashford spent the last 18 months away on loan with Aston Villa and Barcelona.

However, Fenerbahce’s interest provides United with another possible permanent solution. The Turkish side are prepared to spend heavily as they attempt to challenge Galatasaray next season.

Rashford is not expected to rush his decision following England’s World Cup campaign. For United, the key question is now whether Fenerbahce turn their interest into an offer significant enough to change Carrick’s plans.
