While that remains the case, Real Madrid's Aurélien Tchouaméni is seen as the club's 'Dream' signing, following a summer of uncertainty for the French star, with Madrid rumoured to be heavily interested in signing Rodri.
However, a report by Calciomercato suggests that United are looking at Juventus' Teun Koopmeiners after falling down the pecking order under Luciano Spalletti.
The outlet reports that the Italian giants are looking for £25 million to sell the 28-year-old, with the side reportedly open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Manchester United are not alone in their interest, with Aston Villa, who are looking for their Tielemans replacement, said to be monitoring the situation.

Koopmeiners made a name for himself in Serie A, being excellent for Atalanta, with whom he won the Europa League in 2024, earning him a move to Juventus in the summer of 2024.
Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, he has struggled to replicate the form that earned him a move to Turin, providing just two goals and one assist in 45 appearances last season as he tumbled down Luciano Spalletti's pecking order.
At £25 million, Koopmeiners would certainly be a decent budget option, but United can certainly aim higher than the Netherlands midfielder, with a move for Kone still on the table.
While a move for Tchouameni was always going to be somewhat of a pipe dream, given the price and the player's desire to stay in Madrid, United could aim slightly higher this summer rather than going from one price extreme to the other.
