Manchester United are in the market for a left-back signing this summer and there is concrete interest in Lewis Hall.
But if Hall is too expensive or not for sale this summer, Diario claim that United are ‘very serious’ about Jorge Salinas.
Salinas has a €16m release clause, so United fans will need to learn all about the new Spanish left-back target.

Jorge Salinas’ style of play compared to Josko Gvardiol
Salinas is a 19-year-old left-back talent playing for Racing de Santander in La Liga.
According to Scouting App‘s report on Salinas, he is a “versatile, and modern full-back” with a style of play similar to that of Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol.
Like Gvardiol, Salinas plays at left-back but has a 6ft frame capable of playing at centre-back. Manchester City signed Gvardiol for £77 million in 2023.

Jorge Salinas compared to Lewis Hall
United have three left-back targets on their radar according to reports: Hall, Salinas and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Hall’s biggest strengths are in possession, with the Newcastle defender boasting a high level of technical skill. Hall’s bursting overlaps and crossing ability is also where he thrives.
In contrast, Salinas is more of a defend-first kind of player, who is physically able to dominate duels and defend the box from ground and aerial passes.

If Hall is valued at £60m, then Salinas is also a quarter of the price.
However, Salinas lacks Premier League experience while Hall is an established Premier League star.
