However, he may still need more time before being ready to become a consistent starter at a club with United’s expectations.
Rather than diverting attention to alternative targets, INEOS should remain fully focused on landing Lewis Hall.
The Newcastle United defender already looks prepared to perform at the highest level and possesses everything needed to become Shaw’s long-term successor.
The Magpies do not want to sell him this summer but could be tempted with an offer around £50m-£60m.
