New York Knicks coach Mike Brown will be a very busy man in the next few weeks as they begin their preparations for their title defense. Brown will have to devise ways to help them sustain their success, especially after going through some changes in the offseason.
In the meantime, while he still has a surplus of free time, Brown is making sure that he spends it meaningfully.
On Monday, he was present at the training camp of the San Francisco 49ers. While he could absorb ideas he could incorporate into his approach with the Knicks, Brown was not there as a guest observer. He was there as a supportive father.
“New York Knicks coach Mike Brown, freshly minted NBA champion, is at 49ers camp. His son, Cameron Brown, is a defensive assistant for SF,” reported The San Francisco Standard's David Lombardi.

The younger Brown is in his fourth year with the 49ers. He started his career at Case Western Reserve University in the NCAA Division III, where he worked as an assistant defensive line coach and outside linebackers coach.
Of course, while the elder Brown is in the Big Apple, it is clear what team he is rooting for in the NFL.
“The Niners are great. I'm excited for the season. I'm always rooting for them. You know, (New York) Giants, (New York) Jets, I apologize. But it is what it is. My heart, love, all that stuff, is right here in the Bay Area,” said the two-time Coach of the Year.
“Ever since my youngest son became a part of the (49ers) staff, I bleed orange and blue with the Knicks, but there's a little sliver in that heart when you slice it open, that the red comes out.”
The 49ers will start their preseason against the Tennessee Titans on August 13.
