Benjamin Šeško had a difficult start to his Manchester United career, having only scored two Premier League goals before the turn of the new year.
However, his fortunes changed when Rúben Amorim left the club. Šeško netted three in Darren Fletcher's two-game interim stint against Burnley and Brighton before becoming a much more prolific striker when Michael Carrick took charge.
The Slovenian ended the campaign with 11 goals to his name – which is a solid total for his debut campaign. Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo (the two other attacking signings from last summer) also ended the season with 10 or more goals.
But with United returning to the Champions League, more firepower has been linked to the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford's imminent return could be one solution, given he scored 14 goals for Barcelona last term, but a new striker seems to be of interest, too.
Man Utd eye new striker signing
United's priority this summer has been rebuilding their midfield after Casemiro left the club at the end of last season and Manuel Ugarte suffered an ACL injury on World Cup duty.
Andrey Santos' £50 million move and Youri Tielemans' £35 million transfer total £85 million spent on midfielders this summer – a fee which United could have spent on just Mateus Fernandes.
The Athletic have reported that United are still weighing up the striker market, but they were not interested in Danny Welbeck, who has now moved to Chelsea.
Ollie Watkins is another to have been linked to Old Trafford, although the report states he was of interest last summer – before United signed Šeško – but a deal is not expected this year.

Director of Football Jason Wilcox will assess the club's priorities before deciding on the next transfer.
A third midfielder is still an option for United, even if they do not seem as certain about signing one as they did earlier in the window. The Athletic states that a third midfield signing may not arrive this summer.
Roundtable have previously exclusively reported that United have planned talks with Newcastle United for Lewis Hall, who is the clear top target at left-back.
Reports have said Hall could cost as much as £60 million, which would take United's total spend to £145 million.
As well as a striker and a left-back, United have also been linked with left-wingers, although a new addition in that position seems unlikely while Marcus Rashford remains at the club.
