‘Front of the queue’ – Man Utd handed £70m transfer hope
Manchester United could find themselves at the front of the queue for Aurelien Tchouameni if Real Madrid decide to sell the midfielder this summer. United have admired the France international throughout the window, although any Tchouameni Man Utd move still depends on a major change of position at the Bernabeu.
Speaking on UTD UTD UTD Media, @Ankaman616 suggested there is a chance that Jose Mourinho could eventually prefer another midfield option, particularly with Real continuing to pursue Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
“If Real Madrid go to sell Tchouameni,” he said, “we would be at the front of the queue.”
The comments were deliberately cautious, with the prospect of Tchouameni becoming available placed at below 60 per cent rather than presented as an expected departure. Madrid only recently agreed a new contract with the 26-year-old until 2031, while Mourinho has previously wanted him to remain.

Tchouameni Man Utd interest could still depend on Rodri
United’s admiration is well established. Sky Sports included Tchouameni among the midfielders being considered by United earlier this summer, although Madrid’s reluctance to sell has consistently made a deal difficult.
The situation has become more interesting because of Madrid’s pursuit of Rodri. Reports in Spain suggest the European champions are continuing to work on a deal for the Manchester City midfielder, which would create even greater competition in Mourinho’s squad.
United, meanwhile, are no longer guaranteed to sign another midfielder. ReadManUtd reported on Tuesday that the club are reconsidering where to allocate their remaining transfer resources, with Mason Mount’s pre-season form helping reduce the immediate need for another addition.
Tchouameni would represent a different level of opportunity if Madrid unexpectedly opened the door. For now there is no indication that has happened, but United appear ready to pay close attention if Mourinho’s plans change.
