Manchester United need to sign a striker

Manchester United are three games deep into pre-season and are 18 days away from the first Premier League game against Hull City.
So far, the club have brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for the midfield rebuild and Karl Darlow to replace the outgoing Altay Bayindir as the deputy goalkeeper.
Despite the current signings, the club are still far from completing its business both in terms of incomings, with a midfielder, striker and left-back still on the agenda.
However, more importantly, the only outright senior sale the club has made is the sale of Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli due to a clause in his loan deal. Outside of the Dane, the Red Devils are yet to offload anyone apart from young Tyler Fredricson, which could be a reason why the club have been slow as of late in deals.
Fenerbahce make Rashford a priority
The future of Marcus Rashford seems to be a saga that will continue until the deadline of the summer transfer window. The Englishman has released a goodbye post on his socials, which seems to hint that a return to Spain is off the cards.
Multiple reports have suggested that Rashford is seemingly more likely to stay at Old Trafford, given no other club is ready to commit to the fee and also the ideal contract he would want.
However, Fenerbahce have set their sights on the former Barcelona winger. According to The Sun, the Turkish giant has Rashford on a three-man shortlist alongside Rafael Leao and Ismalia Sarr.
Rashford's representatives have been contacted about a potential move, but The Sun have reported he wants to take his time making a decision. But Fenerbahçe are ready to break the bank for the player if he becomes open to a move.

Rashford more likely to stay
A deal should not be ruled out, as alongside Joshua Zirkzee, the winger is the club's best option to raise funds and make much-needed space on the wage bill.
Despite this, a deal away looks more unlikely as the transfer window progresses for one main reason. The club recently signed highly rated youngster Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur for a deal rising to £8 million. When he was bought, he was seen as a player who could contribute to the senior team in the same way Ayden Heaven did.
With that signing, it makes Rashford an even more important player given his experience on the wing and that, other than Thompson, he is the only outright left winger at the club, given that Matheus Cunha is capable of playing up front and in the ten,
Furthermore, if the club do not bring in a striker, then he has an even more important role since he is more than capable of playing up front if Benjamin Sesko is unavailable.
