Alejandro Garnacho is not making a strong first impression at Aston Villa…

Manchester United made the decision to sell Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea last summer, and just one year later, the Carrington graduate has already been moved on to Aston Villa.

Garnacho joined Villa on loan, hoping that Unai Emery can help him to get his career back on track after enduring a dismal time in London.

But Garnacho’s Villa debut was mocked by fans, and the 22-year-old’s pre-season went from bad to worse in his second appearance.

Man United fans react to bizarre Alejandro Garnacho moment

Aston Villa beat Thai club BG Pathum United 3-1 on Tuesday as their pre-season preparations began, and Emery named Garnacho in his starting line-up as a left winger.

On X, a clip of Garnacho has gone viral where he picks up the ball in the box, turns in possession and passes the ball out of play… with no teammates anywhere even close.

Fans on social media did not hold back. One wrote: “This guy is irredeemable. After Aston Villa, I’m not sure he’d have a career if he doesn’t prove himself here.”

Another added: “Even his teammates are in disbelief, what is he doing!?”

“Garnacho’s passing decision-making is a comedy routine,” read another post.

“Garnacho even had the commentator laughing and confused. Who was that pass meant for!?” posted another X user.

Others pointed out how Garnacho’s pass reflects his complete loss of confidence: “Confidence is everything in football. Right now Garnacho looks like a shadow of himself.”

Another post read: *“The pass is one thing but his main problem…. Proceeding to immediately blame those around him. He is and will always be a disease to any dressing room he’s in.*“

Alejandro Garnacho suffers injury in pre-season

As if Garnacho’s match wasn’t going bad enough already, he was also forced off with an injury in the first half.

Garnacho was left with a bloodied mouth after being elbowed by an opposition player, and he was taken off by Emery with minutes to go until half-time.

It shouldn’t stop Garnacho from playing a part in the rest of Aston Villa’s pre-season fixtures, including an upcoming friendly against Bayern Munich.

Villa then face PSG in the Uefa Super Cup final, which is the first opportunity Garnacho will have to make his competitive debut for his new club.
