Man Utd face £60m Lewis Hall decision after Newcastle stance
Manchester United have been handed a fresh warning over a potential Lewis Hall transfer, with Newcastle United reportedly insisting the defender will not leave this summer.
Hall remains Michael Carrick’s leading target at left-back as United look to strengthen the position before the transfer window closes.
However, Newcastle appear determined to resist any approach despite reports valuing the England international at around £60million.
Football365 reports that Newcastle are now privately insisting Hall will stay at St James’ Park.
The 21-year-old is understood to be open to joining United, while Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the defender has been internally approved at Old Trafford.

Lewis Hall transfer could force Man Utd towards alternative
Newcastle’s stance leaves United with a decision over how far they are prepared to push for Hall.
The former Chelsea defender has developed into one of the Premier League’s leading young left-backs and remains under contract until 2029.
Newcastle have already sanctioned several major departures this summer, which strengthens their position over Hall and reduces the pressure to accept another significant offer.
United could therefore turn towards one of their alternatives if negotiations prove impossible.
ReadManUtd reported on Monday that United are prepared to trigger Jorge Salinas’ £13.7million release clause if they cannot sign Hall.
The Racing Santander youngster has emerged as a possible Plan B, although Barcelona are also interested in the Spain Under-19 international.
Hall remains United’s preferred option for now. However, Newcastle’s increasingly firm position means Carrick and the club’s recruitment team must decide whether to test that resolve with a major offer or move quickly for an alternative.
