Philadelphia will gain Jaylen Brown, but Boston will not entirely lose him.
As Brown prepares for his next chapter with the 76ers, he made it clear that his departure will not erase the bond he built with the city during the past decade. The 29-year-old thanked the Boston supporters who continue to embrace him, then welcomed his new audience in Philadelphia.
“And for the new Philly fans, we're going to be ready together,” Brown said. “For the Boston fans that still support me… I appreciate y'all. I love y'all.”
Brown also stressed that his connection to Boston reaches far beyond basketball. He said he poured millions of his own dollars into the city, supporting projects intended to create lasting opportunities for future generations.

Brown Intends to Maintain His Boston Ties
Brown highlighted his work involving community centers, schools and renovated basketball courts. He also referenced investments in programs and infrastructure designed to strengthen Boston over time.
“So no matter what, we still invested here, into the city of Boston,” Brown said, before adding, “regardless of what the organisation got going on.”
That line carried weight. Brown did not expand on the organization, but he drew a clear distinction between the franchise he leaves behind and the community he still wants to serve.
His move to Philadelphia opens a new chapter without closing the previous one completely. Brown said he looks forward to remaining connected to Boston, continuing his investments and directing more energy toward its next generation.
