LeBron James is now part of the Philadelphia 76ers. As a result, there's no reason they shouldn't, at the very least, be mentioned as title contenders. 76ers legend Allen Iverson believes as much, with the addition of Jaylen Brown alongside Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe.
Edgecombe is taking it a step further, per NBA Today on ESPN. He told host Chiney Ogumeke that, for the 76ers, there is no other option but to win the championship. Otherwise, the whole experiment will be a bust.
“Championship or bust…It's either a championship or they suck,” Edgecombe said.

Edgecombe is coming off his rookie season, where he played 75 games. He shot 43.8% from the field, averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
Now he is part of what is destined to be a talent-laden lineup that could certainly contend for the championship. If anything, the 76ers have proven themselves to be a team that could overcome adversity to take the next step on the ladder to success.
This past year, the 76ers overcame a 3-1 deficit to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. With James in the mix and his ability to win everywhere he played, there's no reason why the possibilities are there.
James went to Miami in 2010 and won two titles in 2012 and 2013. Three years later, he returned to Cleveland and led the Cavs to the title in 2016. In 2020, James was a catalyst for the Los Angeles Lakers to win the title in the COVID bubble in Orlando.
