Juventus ready to finalise Joshua Zirkzee deal as Man Utd stance changes
Manchester United are reportedly open to allowing Joshua Zirkzee to join Juventus on loan as talks continue over the forward’s return to Serie A.
Juventus have been interested in Zirkzee throughout the summer and are now ready to push towards completing an agreement.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Italian giants want to finalise a deal for the Netherlands international, with United now open to discussing a temporary departure.
That represents an important change in their position.
Earlier reports suggested United preferred either a permanent sale or stronger guarantees over a future transfer. Juventus had already been exploring a loan move for Zirkzee, but convincing United to accept those terms had been one of the obstacles.
Zirkzee has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter since joining United from Bologna for £36.5million in 2024.
His experience in Italy continues to make Serie A an obvious destination. He produced the best season of his senior career at Bologna before moving to Old Trafford.
United had previously been reluctant to weaken Michael Carrick’s attacking options while Benjamin Sesko worked his way back from injury.
That stance now appears to have softened.
Carrick and United’s recruitment team are still assessing what changes to make before the window closes. ReadManUtd reported on Tuesday that the club are continuing to weigh up the striker market, with resources potentially being redirected away from midfield.
Allowing Zirkzee to leave could increase the need for another attacking option, depending on Sesko’s fitness and how Carrick plans to use his existing forwards.
No final agreement with Juventus has been confirmed yet and the terms of any potential loan remain unclear.
However, United being prepared to consider a temporary move removes one of the biggest barriers to Zirkzee returning to Italy.
Juventus now appear ready to try to turn their long-standing interest into a deal.
