Manchester United has unveiled plans for its first ever permanent matchday fan zone at Old Trafford today (August 5). The club says it will offer supporters a space to meet fellow Reds and enjoy the pre-match build up together.
‘The Paddock’ will sit just 15 metres behind the Stretford End, making it the closest place to the stadium to grab food and drink, and enjoy lively entertainment. Bosses say it's the result of responding to 'strong demand' from supporters.
Fee to enter, the 1,300-capacity fan zone will only be open on matchdays, and will offer all Manchester United ticket holders a dedicated space to enjoy the atmosphere both before and after the game.
The Paddock is part of Manchester United’s new partnership with Levy, the global leaders in hospitality and entertainment, which will see improvements to the matchday experience, including new draught-beer taps, more self-service bars, and a wider range of food and drink across Old Trafford.

Rick McGagh, Director of Fan Engagement at Manchester United said: "We are delighted that in partnership with Levy, we have implemented a wide range of changes to enhance matchdays, bringing together greater choice and better service fro supporters across the stadium - something fans have told us they want.
“The proposed fan zone is the latest example of our continued investment in the atmosphere, fan experience and facilities at Old Trafford, while progressing plans for a new world-class stadium."
It comes just weeks after Manchester United confirmed the club's new 100,000-seater stadium will be built on land recently purchased from Indurent located around 350 metres away from Old Trafford.

United confirmed the location for the new stadium on Thursday (July 9) at the Wharfside Strategic Masterplan and although the stadium won't be built on land currently attached to Old Trafford, they have said it will honour the current ground's history and traditions.
The new ground will be the centrepiece of what is being called a Stadium District, which will be purpose-built for sport, entertainment and year-round activity, with the new stadium serving as the flagship landmark of the wider Trafford Wharfside development.
The masterplan, meanwhile, sets out a bold vision for Trafford Wharfside, including new and improved public transport links, enhanced rail connectivity, and extensive walking and cycling infrastructure. The vision is for a diverse neighbourhood creating 48,000 local jobs and 15,000 new homes, with the new stadium acting as the catalyst.
