Boston Celtics fans are getting excited about Stephen Curry for the wrong reason.
Over the weekend, a Curry trade rumor went viral despite having no truth to it. What started as a Sports Illustrated trade idea turned into a fake rumor that had Celtics fans believing Brad Stevens was trying to trade for Curry.
While it's since been made clear that there's no reason to believe Curry will be heading to Boston anytime soon, Celtics fans are losing their minds once again.
This time, it's because Curry was spotted golfing at Martha's Vineyard at the same time as Jayson Tatum.

Does that mean the rumor was actually true? Of course not. According to Cape Cod News, it was a star-studded day on the course, with former United States President Barack Obama there celebrating his birthday.
It sounds like Curry was playing golf with Obama while Tatum was "a few groups ahead" of them.
"Obama, who is no stranger to the Martha’s Vineyard based private golf course as he regularly vacations on the Island, teed it up alongside two-time National Basketball Association MVP and 12-time All-Star selection Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors," wrote Allen Gunn of Cape Cod News.
"It was an all-around star-studded day on property as Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum was playing a round of golf a few groups ahead of the 44th President of the United States."

Despite that, the internet is back to believing that Curry is destined to be a Celtic.
All of those jersey swaps that circulated the internet last weekend? They're back.
It wouldn't even be a surprise if Curry and Tatum were spotted golfing together. They were teammates on Team USA in the 2024 Olympics and hit the links together in the lead-up to the tournament.
You can't blame Celtics fans for getting excited, but this seems to be another case of a whole lot of nothing.
