Despite his lankiness, there are not many things Victor Wembanyama cannot do on the basketball court. The San Antonio Spurs superstar is regularly unstoppable both defensively and offensively, and the fact that he is just 22 means that Wemby will continue to improve different aspects of his game in the coming seasons.
Now, a recent clip posted on X by NBABase shows Wembanyama pulling off the iconic Dirk Nowitzki fade before making the jumper. Despite being 7 feet 4 inches with a wingspan of around 8 feet, Wemby has the fluid handles of a guard and the ease with which he pulled off the fade will undoubtedly further increase the fear factor that surrounds him.

Since joining the league back in 2023 as the No. 1 overall pick of the draft, Wembanyama has shut down his critics and has gone from strength to strength. He won the Rookie of the Year award after a two-headed race with Chet Holmgren, and then took his game to another level last season.
This is despite the deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder that he suffered in February last year, which limited him to just 46 games in the 2024-25 season. Despite the major injury, Wembanyama returned in 2026 and averaged 25 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.1 blocks per game last season. However, the numbers merely tell a part of the story, as it is his defensive impact and the foundation he gives to his team that counts for just as much.
Wembanyama is truly a once in a lifetime generational talent who is likely to help the Spurs contend for championships for years to come, and the fact that he is still improving and working on his game is undoubtedly a scary phenomenon. San Antonio have responded to his rise in the right way and continue to look for ways to build the right team around him.
For the time being of course, he will be intent on maximizing his chances to help his team continue winning, which will undoubtedly also result in further DPOYs, and possibly MVP titles in the seasons to come.
