Manchester United are introducing a fan zone at Old Trafford for match days called The Paddock.
Most match-going Manchester United fans have their own routine for matches, whether the matches in question are at home or away.
For many, it’s about community and sharing experiences with family and friends alike, which fittingly feels very united.
On Wednesday, United unveiled plans for its first-ever permanent match-day fan zone at Old Trafford. Here is everything we need to know about The Paddock ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Paddock is located behind the Stretford End
Although United have trialled pop-up fan zones in the past in an attempt to boost match-day revenue streams, this will be the first permanent option at Old Trafford.
The Paddock will be situated just 15 metres behind the Stretford End, making it the closest place to the stadium that serves food and drink, while also providing entertainment.
This means The Paddock will become another place for Reds to gather and enjoy the pre-match build-up.
How many fans can The Paddock host?
The Paddock has a capacity of 1,300 and will only be open on match days. United will open the doors to season ticket holders before each game.
However, official communications from the club did not clarify whether The Paddock will be open to members who have purchased match tickets.
The name was chosen by the Fan Experience working group. It’s a fitting reference to the historic standing terrace adjacent to the Stretford End.
Free entry
It will be free to enter The Paddock, but United fans will presumably be asked to pay a premium for the food and drinks available.
The Paddock will include new draught-beer taps, more self-service bars, and a wide range of food and drink.
After all, this is just another way for United to make more money, but at least entry is free for those who want to soak in the atmosphere pre-kick-off.

United have not given any specific dates for when The Paddock will open, but it’s coming this autumn.
It means they are still investing in facilities at Old Trafford, despite progressing with plans for a new stadium.
The new stadium will likely come with an array of permanent fan zones, but The Paddock gives United something to work with until then.
