Among the many questions that teams around the NBA will have to figure out over the next few months, who will get traded is at the top of that list.
There have been some rumblings suggesting that Nikola Jokic of the [Denver Nuggets](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/denver-nuggets) could be dealt or request a trade because of what Denver hasn't been able to do. The Nuggets, who recently won a championship, in the grand scheme of things, haven't exactly built a great roster around him in the past year or so.
However, I think it's absolutely insane to suggest that he could be traded, as Jokic has given us no indication that he ever wants out of Denver. Despite that reality, Bleacher Report recently named him as a potential player who could be on the trade block in the future.
“For so long, Jokic has been among the superstars who would never request a trade or do anything that would compel the Nuggets to have some uncomfortable conversations.
“Does his plan to not sign an extension and instead wait until next summer, when he has a player option, change that? We're about to find out. Especially if Denver emerges from this offseason without Peyton Watson or other key players,” Dan Favale of Bleacher Report [wrote](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25459205-nba-players-most-likely-fill-2026-27-trade-rumor-mill).
The entire contract situation always had some questions tied to situations like this. However, Jokic has already come out and suggested that he wants to sign a new deal in Denver and plans to do so. I don't know why many have been taking that in a literal way, but this feels like a conversation that should stop.
