I have a funny feeling that Ineos are going to divide Manchester United fans more after their decision around Radek Vitek and Middlesbrough’s transfer approach.
I know full well that the ‘sky is the limit’ for Radek Vitek in the eyes of many Manchester United supporters after his emergence at Old Trafford.
It is not me simply saying that about Vitek for the sake of it, as the Czech shot-stopper’s loan spell at Bristol City brought some serious momentum for him.
I think that the aforementioned sentiment could be coupled with Vitek’s opportunity on Man Utd’s pre-season summer tour and Middlesbrough’s desire to sign him.

I think Ineos have covered all the important Man Utd provisions for a Radek Vitek transfer deal to Middlesbrough
Radek Vitek, who featured twice in Manchester United’s pre-season campaign under Michael Carrick, is now set to build on his reputation at the Riverside Stadium.
I saw The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the key breakdowns from the business approach that Ineos has taken towards the deal.
Man Utd will secure an initial £7m transfer fee for the 22-year-old United youth academy product, which could rise to £14m through additional bonuses.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team have also included a 35 per cent sell-on clause in the deal, another key factor that I could not welcome more with Vitek’s summer move.

I think it was equally smart for Man Utd to secure the full potential of the fee if Vitek plays a certain number of matches and if Middlesbrough secure promotion.
The best decision that Ineos made, which I fully support, is the buy-back option and the matching rights for United should another club try to snatch up Vitek.
With all of those details mentioned, I am happy with how the situation has played out around Vitek amid uncertainty around his future in recent months.
Not only will Middlesbrough’s new summer signing secure regular first-team football, but Ineos have also ensured that United will not be left with egg on their face in the future.
I always felt that the former Accrington Stanley and Bristol City player would struggle to secure any regular playing time at United amid Senne Lammens’ presence.
I think the best of both worlds has been reached with the Middlesbrough transfer and Ineos’ buy-back clause and matching rights are winning moves in my books.
