With Jonathan Kuminga still stuck in this year's NBA offseason market as an unrestricted free agent, the Sacramento Kings have notably emerged as one of his previous key suitors.
However, per Anthony Slater of ESPN, their own salary cap situation has fully restricted the Kings in maneuvering any potential deals that will net the talented forward to their side this summer.
"The Kings have also maintained interest in unrestricted free agent wing Jonathan Kuminga, but unlike last summer, they have been hesitant to get into sign-and-trade conversations, as such a move would hard cap them at the first apron," Slater said in his report.
"Without such a move with the Atlanta Hawks, they would have only a minimum to offer, so those talks have gone nowhere, league sources said."

Jonathan Kuminga has entered the NBA offseason as a free agent right after the Atlanta Hawks declined his $24.3 million team option for the 2026-27 season.
He averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 46.3% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc last season, taking an embattled breakup with the Golden State Warriors before arriving in Atlanta at the 2025-26 trade deadline.
The Los Angeles Lakers stand as the most prominent team that pursued Kuminga this offseason. But despite LA's strong push and an opportunity to be the team's possible third star along with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, reports suggest that Kuminga is seeking a major payday in his next deal.
Other than the Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves have recently emerged as the latest suitors for the Congolese star.
