Expectations are sky high for the [Philadelphia 76ers](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/philadelphia-76ers) following the offseason additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James.
This certainly isn't lost on the players on the team.
During a recent appearance on ESPN, Sixers second-year guard V.J. Edgecombe [got brutally honest](https://www.basketballnetwork.net/latest-news/vj-edgecombe-admits-its-championship-or-bust-for-philadelphia-now) about the expectations facing the team.
“Championship or bust. You know what it is, especially for a team like this. It’s either a championship or they suck. And you know, proving (wrong) everyone that’s saying we ain’t going to jell or nothing like that," Edgecombe said.
"But I know I’m playing alongside great players. Nobody has egos. We’ve all been in communication and stuff like that.”
Fair or not, Edgecombe is completely correct. When a team as talented as the Sixers is assembled, immediate success at the highest level is the expectation.
Sometimes it takes a couple of seasons for new teams to gel, but with James entering his record-setting 24th season in the league, the Sixers don't have time to waste.
