PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Suns are reportedly locking down “Dillon the Villain” for several more years.
ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania reported Wednesday that the Suns and forward Dillon Brooks have agreed to a three-year, $73 million contract extension that goes through 2029-30.
Brooks’ toughness and hustle have become a key part of the Suns’ culture under second-year coach Jordan Ott.
The Canadian forward made major improvements to his scoring last season, averaging a career-best 20.2 points per game. His two-way effectiveness stood out, too. He averaged a steal and over two 3-pointers per game.
Brooks missed several weeks last year with a broken left hand.
The Suns’ roster has undergone significant changes this offseason after the team’s success surprised many national sports media pundits last season.
Phoenix traded guard Grayson Allen and forward Royce O’Neale for Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges in late June. The team also re-signed guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin, along with center Mark Williams, and welcomed rookie and East Valley native Koa Peat to the team.
