In the wake of a highly dramatic offseason that saw the additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, Joel Embiid is now fully healthy to start the next NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Appearing on Middays With Marks of 97.5 The Fanatic, Philadelphia 76ers team president Mike Gansey announced that Joel Embiid is fully healthy and no longer dealing with any restrictions while playing as he continues to spend this year's NBA offseason.
"This is one of the first offseasons that he's healthy going into. Obviously, in the Knicks series and at the end of the Boston series, he was a little banged up. But now, he's healthy," Gansey said. "There are no restrictions.
"He's already been in the gym, working out and spending time in the weight room. I think he's lifting five days a week, his body looks good, and he's trimmed down a little bit. He's in great shape and in a great place. Obviously, it's August 5 right now, so we still have a ways to go until training camp, but with two months to go, he's excited and motivated."

Joel Embiid health gives ealy optimism to 76ers' LeBron James era
After becoming the league MVP for the 2022-23 NBA season, injuries have completely disrupted Joel Embiid in leading the Philadelphia 76ers. The superstar big man has not played more than 39 games in each of the past three seasons.
Last 2025-26 campaign, he only logged 38 appearances, averaging 26.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
By winning the LeBron James sweepstakes and delivering the blockbuster Jaylen Brown trade this offseason, Embiid now has a newfound purpose to keep himself active to help the 76ers finally win it all.
"I think these moves are going to help us, and especially help him because he won't have to do as much. You can maybe limit his minutes, particularly until the bigger games. We haven't gotten that far ahead yet. Once we get our schedule, we can map things out month by month, look at back-to-backs, minute restrictions, and all of that," Gansey added.
"But he's got free rein to go right now. I know he and LeBron had conversations that really helped in the recruitment. Looking back, I watched some of the Olympic tape with him and LeBron, and those two had a nice one-two combination. His talent is undeniable. He's arguably the most talented big man that's ever touched a basketball.
"He's motivated, excited, and with the group we have, different guys can be the main option on any given night."
