Newcastle United will not entertain offers for England international Lewis Hall this summer.
A mass exodus at St James’ Park has resulted in Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Eddie Howe leaving the club. Bruno Guimaraes is also on the brink of securing a £75million switch to Arsenal.
As for incomings, Newcastle have signed five players - four of which are aged 20 or under - with more arrivals expected. It is understood that new signings are now the focus and the high-profile exit door has been slammed shut.
Newcastle United to keep Lewis Hall
NewcastleWorld understands Hall and Tino Livramento are likely to stay on Tyneside for the upcoming campaign. There was talk that the latter could move on before his recent injury woes.
However, the Magpies were always confident in keeping Hall amid reported Manchester United interest. The plan is to tie the 21-year-old - arguably Newcastle’s best player last season - down to a new contract.
‘I do not expect’ - David Ornstein
Speaking on The Athletic’s podcast, reputable journalist David Ornstein backed up the claims that Hall will not be sold. He said: "At the beginning of the summer I thought that they were going to be the busiest team in the market.
“Just because there's so much work that is needed and still needs to be done. I do not expect Lewis Hall to be coming to Man United.
“Following the departure of Eddie Howe, Newcastle will be more determined to keep him, maybe even tie him down to a new contract. Midfield and left-back are two of the main areas of importance for them in the market."
