Jacobs: Milan winger offered to Leeds, Man Utd and Arsenal in ‘ring-around’ by agency

Rafael Leao has reportedly been offered to three clubs in the Premier League, with one of them being quite surprising.

All of the talk in the past few days has been about a U-turn in Leao’s stance and that he now wishes to remain at Milan, snubbing a move to Turkey. However, a lot depends on the opinion of Ruben Amorim and whether he thinks he can be a fit for his 3-4-2-1.

Leao offered to Leeds

Now, Ben Jacobs has told talkSPORT that Leao’s entourage have been searching for a new destination, with a move to the Premier League understood to be preferred.

“Rafa Leao was actually offered, believe it or not, to Leeds United along with Manchester United and Arsenal,” Jacobs said.

“The magnitude of the deal, the finances, the appetite and all of that, it doesn’t appear that anything is going to advance. My expectation at the moment is Leao might end up in Turkey.

“But there was basically a ring-around from Leao’s agency to several Premier League clubs, and Leeds were one of them.”

As mentioned, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have been the strongest linked with a move for Leao, but he clearly does not currently seem convinced by a switch to Istanbul as he is about to enter his prime years.

Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano reported yesterday that Leao’s mood within the Milan camp seems to be very jovial again. Amorim appears to be including him in the fold, perhaps as expected, and he had a bright cameo against Inter in Perth.
