Real Madrid have taken a significant step towards signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with the player set to undergo his medical.
Los Blancos have agreed on a €140 million package deal to sign the 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger, who is now on his way to Spain.
He will land in the Spanish capital this afternoon and head to the club’s offices to sign his contract and complete the customary procedures before being unveiled as a new Madrid player.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Madrid have agreed to a last-minute amendment to Diomande’s contract.
The club have agreed to extend the length of Diomande’s contract by an additional year, underlining their long-term faith in one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Diomande’s deal will now run until June 2032 instead of 2031.
The revised agreement has already been reached between Real Madrid and the player’s camp, with the final legal checks currently being completed before the contract is formally signed.
Once those steps are finalised, Diomande will officially become a Real Madrid player.
Real Madrid have already shown massive faith in the amount they have spent to bring Diomande to the Spanish capital.
They are now further doubling down on their commitment by extending his deal even further, making it a bumper six-year contract.
Diomande is widely regarded as one of the most talented young wingers in the sport, and Madrid believe they have signed a player who can entertain for the next decade.

The teenager is expected to lead the line for Jose Mourinho alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, in what is a Galactico forward line.
Even if Madrid try to avoid it as much as possible, the price tag attached to Diomande is bound to put massive pressure on him.
Fans will place a lot of expectations on the 19-year-old, and that, coupled with the pressure of playing for Madrid, could bog down even the best of the best.
Diomande seems to be mature beyond his years and has a calm head on his shoulders, but Jose Mourinho will be careful about how they manage him.
Madrid have set themselves up beautifully for the future by signing Diomande, and fans will hope that they can sing his name for the next decade and beyond.
