Lakers’ given worrisome injury reality about Walker Kessler image

Not that the Los Angeles Lakers roster feels incomplete, but there are certainly ways for this team to improve on both sides of the basketball. Speaking specifically about what the Lakers need, there are more ways than not to look at that.

Los Angeles could simply use more talent due to what it doesn't have, but it could also add some depth.

Frankly, if the Lakers have a chance to land an above-average player, they should do so.

However, that could also put them in a weird spot at the center position with their limited depth. That's why I don't think it's crazy to suggest that the Lakers aren't done this offseason yet.

We could see them go get another big man, which one reporter recently touched on because of Walker Kessler's injury history.

“Part of the reason so much hinges on Kessler is the way the Lakers and Luka Dončić prioritized him,” Dan Woike wrote. “Another part is that the Lakers have only Kevon Looney as a backup. Sandro Mamukelashvili and Jarred Vanderbilt are in pencil further down the Lakers’ depth chart, but neither would be capable of playing center on a full-time basis should they need to.”

Kessler's injury history is definitely something to keep in mind, as it's been something he's dealt with. It remains uncertain how serious a lot of these injuries were, as there were times where it felt like the Utah Jazz were holding him out of games because they didn't want to win.

Still, the Lakers have to be mindful of what he's gone through throughout his career, as one injury to him could really put the team in a rough spot.
