Brandin Podziemski could seek a huge payday in extension talks with the Golden State Warriors.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Podziemski's increased role as a starter and improved production during the 2025-26 campaign could lead his representatives to demand as much as $25 million per season—significantly more than Golden State would prefer to offer.
"In terms of what a new deal for Podziemski could possibly look like, it is likely that the AAV would be between $22 million and $24 million," Siegel wrote.
"While the sweet spot for the Warriors would be a deal somewhere between $15 million and $18 million, Podziemski and his camp would want to exceed this in their asking price due to his contributions as a starter and improved production during the 2025-26 season."
Podziemski produced career-best season
Podziemski appeared in all 82 games during his third NBA season, averaging career highs of 13.8 points and 28.4 minutes to go along with 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest.
The 23-year-old shot 45.5% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range, improving his scoring average from 11.7 points during the previous campaign.
Podziemski has already expressed interest in reaching a long-term agreement with Golden State after describing his latest season as an up-and-down campaign that ended on a positive note.
The Warriors exercised the fourth-year option on his rookie contract, keeping him under contract for approximately $5.7 million during the 2026-27 season. As a member of the 2023 draft class, he is eligible to negotiate a rookie-scale extension this offseason.
Golden State selected Podziemski with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He earned All-Rookie First Team honors during his debut season and has since established himself as a regular member of the Warriors' starting lineup.
