TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Hoops dreamers can take a shot at improving their skills with a special clinic this Saturday.
Remy Ndiaya, player development specialist with the Miami Heat, wil be the coach. He visited Eye on NE Kansas with Linessa Frazier from the Topeka Chapter of the Links, Inc. and Dale Cushinberry, retired educator, player and coach.
Remy came to the U.S. from Sengal as part of a Sports for Education and Economic Development program. His host family is from Topeka, which is how he established a connection to the Capital City.
The Topeka Chapter of the Links, Inc. invited him to present the clinic as a fundraiser for their organization. Frazier said Remy and the group share a belief in education as a priority and a pathway to a better future.
Cushinberry said Remy’s approach and character mirror what he strived to instill in young students and athletes. He said the clinic is a great opportunity for local youth.

The Bringing the Heat basketball clinic with Remy Ndiaya of the Miami Heat is Saturday, Aug. 8 at Topeka High.
A 9 to 11 a.m. session is geared toward grades 3-8, with a 1 to 3 p.m. for high school and college students. Cost for each student is $100 plus a book donation. Books should be school-age appropriate.
Remy will host a “Bleacher Talk” question-and-answer session at 3 p.m. The talk is free and open to the public.
