Josh Hart had trouble stomaching the sight of Mitchell Robinson in green, but he still has deep gratitude for his former New York Knicks teammate. When a social media user posted a compilation of all the times the veteran wing has been left hanging during his NBA career, the new Boston Celtics center offered his heartfelt support.
“I would’ve gave you a high five brother,” Robinson commented on Instagram, per the New York Basketball X account. Hart appreciated the gesture and let everyone know that their bond transcends uniform colors and different locations. “That’s why you my brother,” he proclaimed. They may now be rivals on the court, but their friendship remains strong.

Ending a 53-year championship drought in the largest media market in the country is something that will link these two individuals for the rest of their lives. Hart and Robinson were valuable contributors on one of the greatest Knicks squads ever assembled. One of those men will continue to call Madison Square Garden his home for the foreseeable future, while the other gets acclimated to a new city and franchise.
Robinson is an elite offensive rebounder and impactful interior defender, and he put those essential skills on display versus the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals. Knicks newcomer Andre Drummond can still crash the glass to great effect, but he alone cannot replicate the country music-loving big man's production. Josh Hart will do his best to pick up the slack.
Although the 2017 first-round draft pick has been known to endure inconsistent stretches over the course of a campaign, he has a number of brothers in hoops he can lean on when necessary. It appears Mitchell Robinson is still a vocal member of that group.
