Manchester United have finally confirmed the signing of Cristian Orozco.
In September 2025 Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Cristian Orozco, with Ineos continuing to snap up top talents from around the globe.
Orozco finally linked up with United in July 2026 after he turned 18, working with the under-21 squad.
The club formally announced his transfer in August 2026, with all the paperwork now complete.

1) Cristian Orozco began his career with Colombian club Rojo FC before joining Fortaleza in 2025. He was still in the academy at Fortaleza when Manchester United agreed his signature.
2) Orozco was named as captain of the Colombia under-17 team and helped them reach the final of the South American championship in early 2025. They were defeated in the final by Brazil on penalties.
3) He then captained Colombia at the under-17 World Cup last October after Manchester United’s agreement. He impressed in their draw with Germany in the group stages, before their knockout elimination against France.
4) Last December, Orozco travelled to watch Manchester United at Old Trafford and spent the week training with the under-18s and under-21 sides.
5) Orozco made his first team debut for Fortaleza in February 2026, coming off the bench in the Colombian top flight. He made his first start for the side in May.

Pipe Sierra was the journalist who broke the story. He commented: “He has the characteristics of a skilled player, they say he trains very well and makes a difference.”
Outlet Primer Tiempo wrote: “He has established himself as one of the country’s most promising young players in his age group, with the ability to win balls back and launch from the front line.”
Antena 2 reported: “He is the current captain of the Colombian Under-17 national team, characterized by his fierce personality on the field.”
After one of his under-17 World Cup performances, local news outlet El Espectador reported: “Orozco leads not only with the ball but also with his attitude.
“The rhythm of the game flows through him. He’s the first to press the opponent and understands the game, knowing when to play short and when to play long.”
