Manchester United have completed the signing of highly rated young midfielder Cristian Orozco from Colombian top-flight club Fortaleza CEIF, adding another promising talent to their long-term development plans.
The 18-year-old arrives at Old Trafford after making his breakthrough in Colombia’s Categoria Primera A, where he gained valuable senior experience despite his young age. Orozco featured in five first-team matches for Fortaleza last season, earning recognition for his composure, technical ability and potential in the middle of the pitch.
Orozco’s move to Manchester United, represents the latest step in a rapidly developing career that began at Rojo FC’s academy. The midfielder progressed through the club’s youth system before attracting attention with his performances and earning opportunities at Fortaleza’s senior level.
The teenager has also represented Colombia internationally, featuring for the national team at Under-17 level. His performances for both club and country have helped establish him as one of the emerging talents from Colombia’s next generation of footballers.
United have continued to invest heavily in young players from around the world as part of their recruitment strategy, with Orozco joining a group of emerging prospects being developed for the future.
The club’s scouting network has increasingly focused on identifying talented players at an early stage of their careers, particularly those with technical quality and the ability to adapt to elite football.
Primarily a midfielder, Orozco is known for his ability to influence play through his passing, movement and intelligence in possession. His experience in Colombia’s top division at just 18 years old is viewed as an important foundation as he begins the next phase of his development in England.
The transition to English football will provide Orozco with new challenges, including adapting to the pace and physical demands of the Premier League environment. United are expected to integrate the youngster carefully, allowing him time to settle and continue his progression.
The signing follows the club’s continued commitment to building a squad capable of competing in the future while also maintaining a pathway for talented young players to develop within the organisation.
For Orozco, the move represents a significant milestone and an opportunity to continue his growth at one of the world’s most recognisable football clubs. The Colombian midfielder will now look to impress during his early months at Manchester United, and work towards making his mark in European football
