Altay Bayindir has left Manchester United to sign with Celta Vigo on a loan deal, and is not expected to return.
Another one of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United signings has left the club. Altay Bayindir has departed on loan with Celta Vigo for the 2026/27 season.
Bayindir had not featured in pre-season for United, and the signing of Karl Darlow indicated that his days as back-up goalkeeper were numbered.

Manchester United supporters were hoping that Altay Bayindir would be sold permanently for a fee.
Unfortunately the club have had to settle for a loan deal, but there are positive elements to the agreement.
Altay Bayindir’s wages are being covered in full. He earned an annual salary of around £3 million per year.
Option to buy included with loan, to be decided at end of the season.
United would have a sell-on fee included as part of the deal.
Celta Vigo confirmed in a club statement that Bayindir’s loan deal includes the option to buy.

Celta Vigo’s statement talks up Altay Bayindir’s signing. They are clearly enthused about what the Turkey international can offer.
It reads: “He has accumulated over 1,500 minutes and continued to expand his experience at the highest level, both in domestic and European competitions.
“Celta welcomes him and is confident that he can continue to contribute his security between the posts, his imposing physique and his ability to dominate the aerial game in this new stage with the sky-blue shirt.”
