Manchester United officially confirm Altay Bayindir Celta Vigo exit
Manchester United have officially confirmed Altay Bayindir has joined Celta Vigo on loan for the 2026/27 season. The Altay Bayindir Celta Vigo move takes the Turkey international to La Liga after three seasons at Old Trafford, with Celta also securing an option to make the transfer permanent.
United announced the goalkeeper’s departure on Friday, with the move subject to registration.
Manchester United confirmed Bayindir’s season-long loan on their official website, bringing an end to the immediate uncertainty surrounding his future.
The 28-year-old made six appearances last season and leaves Old Trafford having played 17 times for United since arriving from Fenerbahce in 2023.

Celta have provided further detail on the agreement.
The Spanish club confirmed that their deal with Manchester United includes an option to buy Bayindir, potentially giving the goalkeeper a permanent route away from Old Trafford if his spell in Spain proves successful.
Bayindir joins a Celta side preparing for Europa League football after finishing sixth in La Liga last season under Claudio Giraldez.
For United, his departure continues an extensive summer reshaping under Michael Carrick and director of football Jason Wilcox.
ReadManUtd detailed the scale of United’s summer overhaul on Friday morning, with six arrivals and around a dozen departures already recorded before Bayindir’s move was formally announced.
The goalkeeper hierarchy at Old Trafford also looks considerably clearer.
Senne Lammens established himself as United’s first choice last season, while Karl Darlow arrived from Leeds United in July to provide experienced senior competition.
Bayindir can now pursue regular football in Spain.
The Altay Bayindir Celta Vigo transfer also gives United the possibility of a permanent resolution next summer should Celta decide to exercise their purchase option.
