Aljofree, who had been on trial at the club, has signed a two-year deal with the club having a further option year in their favour.
His signing follows on from the capture of striker Tom Bradshaw and former Dunfermline duo wan Otoo and Kieran Ngwenya in the past week.
Aljofree was released by the Old Trafford outfit earlier this summer.

He won the FA Youth Cup with United in the 2021-22 season, but did not make a first-team appearance although he can boast loan experience
with Altrincham, Accrington Stanley and Notts County.
The 22-year-old is the son of former Plymouth Argyle player Hasney Aljofree.
Speaking about the impact of Aljofree in his press conference ahead of Saturday’s EFL Cup tie with West Brom at the AESSEAL New York Stadium – and prior to him signing his contract – manager Alex Bruce said: I think he's been excellent, Sonny, I really do.
"I think he's complemented the defenders at we've got in the group. We'll have to see what happens with him.”
