Lewis Hall’s current training activity at Newcastle is not a sign that the England star could move to Premier League side Manchester United this summer.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Lewis Hall amid their pursuit of a new left-back alternative to add to Michael Carrick’s first-team squad at Old Trafford.
Chelsea have also shown an interest in bringing the 21-year-old full-back and midfielder back to Stamford Bridge after his Blues exit in 2024.
Newcastle are keen to fend off interest for Man Utd-linked Hall, who arrived at St James’ Park on an initial loan deal in 2023 before his move was made permanent.

Lewis Hall’s training at Newcastle is not tied to Man Utd or Chelsea’s transfer interest this summer
Lewis Hall is currently on pre-season with Newcastle and linked up with the Magpies for training in July after he missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad.
It has been reported that Manchester United are willing to pay up to £60m to land former Chelsea player Hall, who is under contract with Newcastle until 2029.
Speaking on the Everything is Black and White podcast, Lee Ryder and Sean McCormick provided an update on why Hall’s training with Newcastle.
“At pre-season venues, you always get a flavour of what the mood is like behind the scenes,” Sean McCormick said.
“Focused, I would say, protective almost as well. Because obviously there [were] a few players that didn’t train, Lewis Hall and Fabian Schar.
“They didn’t really want them to be sort of pictured or anything like that. Nothing untoward about it. Just as a protective measure.”

Lee Ryder added: “Yeah. I mean, Fabian Schar came out, what do you say, about 10 minutes after the group, but he came out in the main pitch, whereas Lewis Hall, he was doing some sort of individual training with a fitness coach, sort of away from the pitch, wasn’t he?”
Responding to Ryder, McCormick continued: “He was working on his upper-body strength.”
Ryder would ultimately rule out that Man Utd or Chelsea’s potential interest was a reason behind England international Hall training alone in the pre-season.
“Yeah, but there’s nothing to worry about,” he explained.
“We’ve just been to reassure our fans that we’ve been told unequivocally that he is not for sale this summer.”
United target Hall played the majority of Newcastle’s most recent pre-season friendly matches against Bristol City and Gateshead this summer.
