Altay Bayindir has responded to his Manchester United exit on social media. The goalkeeper has completed a season-long loan move to Spanish outfit Celta Vigo.
The move could be made permanent next year, with the deal having a £3.5million option included. Celta Vigo will pay 10) per fect of the player's wages, and United will also receive performance-related bonuses.
Should the deal become permanent next summer, United will also add a high sell-on clause. The deal was confirmed on Friday, with Bayindir moving on in search of more game time.
The goalkeeper spent three seasons at Old Trafford following his £4.3million switch from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce. Upon confirmation of his departure, Bayindir took to social media to express his gratitude to the club and its supporters.
Alongside a collection of photographs and videos from his time in Manchester, he wrote: "Thank you for every chant, every message and every moment we have shared. Your support means a lot to me and I'll carry it with me throughout this next chapter of my life. I'll miss Old Trafford but this is not goodbye.
"Wishing a successful season to everyone at the club, my heart and support will always be with you. See you soon Reds!" The post garnered likes from several United teammates, amongst them Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire, while academy product Toby Collyer responded with a red heart emoji.
Amidst uncertainty surrounding Bayindir's situation, United had already secured a replacement. The club finalised the acquisition of Karl Darlow on a free transfer earlier this summer.
The 35-year-old has spent the last three years at Leeds United, but became available without a fee after his contract expired earlier this summer. He will serve as deputy to Lammens.
This follows Andre Onana's return to Trabzonspor on loan, while Radek Vitek is poised to join Championship outfit Middlesbrough, as he, too, seeks consistent first-team opportunities.
