The WWE SmackDown preview for August 14th, 2026 will cover WWE’s big night in “Bean Town” as the WWE Universe from Boston, Massachusetts, visits the home of the 18-time NBA World Champions, the Boston Celtics, at TD Garden. Boston is a championship city, and they will be treated to three huge title defenses this Friday night on the Blue brand.
For a city with a rich history in winning chips, some of SmackDown’s stars might be celebrating their crowning achievement live in front of the Boston crowd. Without further ado, here’s a WWE SmackDown preview for August 14th, 2026. Let’s run it down.
It’s H1M in Boston
Carmelo Hayes won the United States Championship from Ilja Dragunov last year to cap off 2025. For Melo, this was his crowning achievement; he’s finally arrived and here to stay. Weeks away from WrestleMania 42, where he was supposed to defend the U.S. Title, he was robbed of that opportunity after Sami Zayn weaseled his way into a U.S. Title Match, winning the gold, leading to his showdown with Trick Williams in Vegas.
For months, Hayes has been stewing, feeling like he was set aside, left to rot. Now, he took it into his own hands. Melo got his hands on the new United States Champion, Baron Corbin, beating him down backstage and said he’ll see him in his hometown of Boston, as he challenges him for the United States Title.

Quickly, the match was made official by WWE higher-ups. Corbin, in his second WWE run, has already made waves since returning. Only mere weeks after arriving on SmackDown, he’s become U.S. Champion and beat Trick Williams twice.
Unfortunately for him, it’s quite a different landscape since he was last here, and Melo is gunning after him in his quest to reclaim the coveted United States Title.
A Fatal Flaw for Tiffy Time?

For weeks, Jacy Jayne has ranted and aired out her grievances regarding not being able to compete in the 5-Way Women’s Interim WWE Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam. Despite her being the one losing, she blamed the Women’s U.S. Champion Tiffany Stratton for all her misfortunes. Fair enough; Stratton did beat her to secure the ladder match slot, but Jayne wants revenge, and she wants the Women’s United States Title.
All of SmackDown’s Women’s Champions stood in the ring in Philadelphia in a sight to behold, a preview of the next few decades of WWE, and Jayne would wager something on the latest edition of SmackDown: the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles in exchange for a shot at Stratton and the title. Her Fatal Influence teammates Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley would follow through for their leader, not only successfully defending but ensuring gold remains in the group.
This week in Boston, Jayne finally gets her lick as she has a golden opportunity to become Women’s United States Champion as she takes on Tiffany Stratton. There’s a lot more to sink your teeth into, as the WWE Tag Team Titles will be on the line a three-way. Plus, CharLexa has a “new friend” they’re probably dying to introduce to the WWE Universe.
