Crystal Palace bid prompts Nottingham Forest transfer effort–Manchester United‘patiently waiting’

Crystal Palace have made a bid for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, prompting Nottingham Forest to prepare their own transfer effort.

Foot Mercato report that a great game of musical chairs is ready to take place over the 22-year-old midfielder, with Liverpool and Manchester United also waiting in the wings.

Monaco want €50m

The outlet reports that despite the high-profile departure of Maghnes Akliouche to PSG, Monaco have not finished their major squad overhaul just yet.

They still need to finalise a significant sale to aid their finances, and Lamine Camara appears to be the man who will be moved on. The potential ‘saga’ around him is ‘currently in full swing’.

Monaco’s management have set a €50m asking price on the midfielder, a fee that has not deterred suitors as yet. The most intense interest appears to be coming from the Premier League.

FM’s information states Crystal Palace have now submitted a concrete offer directly to Monaco’s management. The nature of this offer isn’t made clear. But, following the Eagles’ lead, Nottingham Forest are also on the verge of making an official bid.

Liverpool and Manchester United ‘in the wings’

Then there is Manchester United and Liverpool who ‘remain in the wings’. Both of them are ‘patiently waiting’ to see how the situation develops before taking any concrete action.

It appears that they are happy to let Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest do the leg work. Sport Witness have already covered Liverpool’s interest in particular.

Monaco, for their part, have already identified a replacement. Meanwhile the player, his agent – Kemo Barro – and his entourage are fully aware of the landscape and developing battle. They are carefully weighing up their options. Their priority is to choose ‘the best sporting project’.

Whether that would hold true should Manchester United or Liverpool – undeniable draws for any player – make firm bids after Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, remains to be seen.
